  Teaching
volunteering teaching in nonprofit in Nepal

There are 21 children in our family and we have decided them into 2 groups by their age and school grade: the first group consists of children who are below ‘grade 3’ in school and the other above it. Our fundamental goal is to give the children an appropriate level in English through our basic and secondary courses, Maths, Science although we teach them other subjects as well: we believe in a wide curriculum.

The main reason why we feel English Language is so important because not only is it international but it is recognized everywhere in Nepal too. It is also useful if a person wishes to go into higher education and can be the source of one’s income.

We have teachers who work as volunteers from across the world. Besides, we have a paid tutors hired from poor, local community, aiming to make their life easier through employment. Nevertheless, talented and enthusiasts tutors are assigned to teach English language, Maths, Science or any other subject to Samarpan Nepal Children at any date throughout the year they want to volunteer.

Teaching instructions to volunteers
One volunteer at a time is assigned to teach one group of children along with one Nepali guide for the ease of teaching if the volunteer is non-Nepali language speaker. Volunteers will continue our teaching course. Also, there shall be a teaching co-coordinator to guide you.

Volunteer’s role
We have experienced that our children get excited and want to be close with volunteers and love them as well. As such, it’s not a nine days wonder to see them talking each other and making noise sometimes. As a teacher you must be tolerant and can’t show threatening and begrudging behavior. All we expect from volunteers is love and compassion towards the children and the organization.
