Krishnapur
Dadagau Village

1. Where are we based?
Krishnapur, a semi-urban town, located in the Chitwan district in the middle of southern Nepal, 146 km away from the capital city Kathmandu.

Beautiful sights
When you come to Krishnapur, you'll find yourself in an area of plains surrounded by beautiful green mountains. Two major rivers - the Narayani and Rapati - flow around our location. And there are many breathtaking lakes within a short distance. Chitwan National park is just a 10 minute drive away, a very popular wildlife tour with many volunteers.

There are many beautiful places nearby that tourists love to visit. Like the Maula Kalika Temple, Devghat, Shibaghat, Bis Hajar Taal (literally 'Twenty Thousand Lake'), and Chitwan National Park (a UNESCO world heritage site). All this and more is located just a few miles away, and as a volunteer you'll get to tour these areas in the day time and work on the program in the evening.

Beautiful community
You'll find a friendly, mixed community here, with many castes and tribes living together harmoniously. All of our volunteers have described Krishnapur as a fascinating, safe, social place to live in.

We've got hospitals, clinics, police, ambulances, buses, three wheelers, auto rikshaws, and taxis readily available. And internet and telephone services too!

How to get here
It takes about 5 hours by car or 20 minutes by plane to reach us from Kathmandu. Buses and flights operate daily.

2. Dadagau Village, Gorkha

Projects here
1. Horticultural Program
2. Teaching kids and teens

Where is it?
Located in the Gorkha district in mid northern Nepal, Dadagau Village is a mountainous, fertile, sparsely populated rural village. The locals have created ingenious terraces for farming, so much of our Horticultural program is based on those terraces and the fascinating mountain geography.

There are many poor people living in the village, and the tribal communities of Magar, Gurung, Baram all live together in perfect harmony. You'll soon feel at home with the locals who are very helpful and easy-going.

Unique remote location
This village is located on the top of a mountain from which you're treated to breathtaking views of the snowcapped Himalayas - including Himal Chuli (7,893 m) and Manasalu (8,156 m), the 8th tallest peak in the world.

With mountains, waterfalls and streams all around, you'll find so many beautiful destinations within walking distance. Like
Tare Raha, a mysterious water pond where it's believed you can see stars in the daylight, just a half hour walk away, and Lakhan Chhehara, a beautiful, cascading waterfall. Or why not scale Sulikot the sharp, pointed mountain, adjacent to its sister mountain Rupakot?

Perfect weather
You'll enjoy the ideal summer season here, with temperatures reaching up to 33 degree Celsius. Generally though, this is a very cool place to live in. And the rainy season is just beautiful, with a range of waterfalls and raging streams surging through every gorge of the mountains.

How to get there
This project location is in about 230 km away from the capital Kathmandu. From Kathmandu it takes about 7 hours by bus to get to Bhaluswara village, and then a further couple of hours walk to reach the destination. There are no flights to the destination, but buses are available every day.

Hospital, transportation and internet services are a few miles away, about a couple of hours walk from the destination. You'll find a telephone service available at the location, and the local health post is one hour's walk away in another village called Lakuribot Bhanjyang.
